At The Lilliput World, our activities are thoughtfully designed to enrich your child's learning journey beyond the classroom. Our programs range from Music and Sports classes, where children develop a sense of rhythm and basic movement skills, to hands-on Experiment and Cooking classes that ignite curiosity and practical life skills. Each activity is crafted to foster creativity, physical development, and a love for learning.
We also believe in the importance of community and family involvement. Our Parents Club and Grandparenting programs provide a supportive space for families to engage in conscious parenting and share traditions. Additionally, we host regular seminars and workshops to deepen the understanding of Montessori education and child development, ensuring that our community is equipped to support each child’s growth. At The Lilliput World, we provide a holistic environment where children and families can thrive together.
At The Lilliput World, our Music & Movement activity is designed to nurture children’s love for music while supporting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Through joyful songs, rhythmic activities, and creative movements, children are introduced to the fundamental elements of music in a fun and engaging way. This activity encourages self-expression, coordination, listening skills, and confidence, all while creating meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences.
The curriculum begins by helping children recognize concepts through contrast, making it easier for them to understand and appreciate differences in sound and movement. Children explore musical elements such as high and low sounds, fast and slow tempos, loud and soft dynamics, long and short notes, and rhythm through songs, dance, and playful interaction. By combining music with movement, children naturally develop body awareness, concentration, and a deeper understanding of patterns and expression in everyday life.
At The Lilliput World, our Sport Class is designed to support children’s physical growth through fun, active, and developmentally appropriate movement activities. Through games, guided exercises, and interactive play, children are encouraged to explore how their bodies move while building confidence, coordination, and body awareness in a joyful environment.
The curriculum focuses on developing Basic Movement Skills, which are essential foundations for future physical activities and sports. Children practice movements such as running, jumping, balancing, catching, throwing, and striking, using different parts of the body including the arms, legs, torso, and head. These skills not only strengthen physical development and motor coordination, but also help children improve concentration, teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence. By mastering these movement patterns, children build a strong foundation for lifelong participation in sports, dance, outdoor activities, and healthy active living.
At The Lilliput World, our Cooking Class provides children with meaningful hands-on experiences that connect learning to everyday life. Through fun and guided activities, children are introduced to the process of preparing food while developing independence, responsibility, and practical life skills in an enjoyable environment.
Children have the opportunity to explore and process fresh ingredients, whether harvested from the school garden or sourced from local farmers. From washing and preparing ingredients to mixing and creating simple dishes, they experience the joy of making food from start to finish. More importantly, children learn the value of patience, teamwork, healthy eating, and appreciation for nature’s resources as they enjoy the meals they create together with friends at school.
At The Lilliput World, Water Day is more than just a fun activity—it is a meaningful Montessori experience that helps children develop important life skills through hands-on exploration. Through activities such as mopping, scrubbing, washing, and cleaning, children are encouraged to actively care for their environment while enjoying the playful element of water-based learning.
These practical life activities help children strengthen independence, coordination, concentration, and responsibility in a natural and joyful way. Water Day is not about doing things perfectly or staying completely tidy—it is about building confidence, learning with purpose, and positively channeling energy through meaningful movement. At The Lilliput World, we believe that joyful experiences and valuable life lessons go hand in hand, helping children grow into capable and caring individuals.
At The Lilliput World, our Mini Trip program extends learning beyond the classroom, giving children the opportunity to explore the world through meaningful real-life experiences. These outings are thoughtfully designed to help children connect classroom lessons with everyday situations, encouraging curiosity, confidence, and social awareness in a fun and engaging way.
Children may visit places such as bookstores, zoos, dental clinics, farms, or nature trails, each offering valuable hands-on learning opportunities. During a bookstore visit, for example, children learn about saving money, making choices, purchasing books, and social interaction through real experiences. Trips to the zoo or nature walks help nurture curiosity and appreciation for living things, while visits to places like the dentist introduce children to important life experiences in a positive and familiar way. Through Mini Trips, children develop independence, practical life skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
At The Lilliput World, Special Days are meaningful celebrations that enrich children’s learning experiences while helping them build a deeper connection to culture, community, and appreciation for others. Throughout the year, children participate in a variety of events such as Kartini Day, Mother’s Day, Teacher’s Day, Chinese New Year (CNY), The Lilliput World Birthday, and many other celebrations that encourage creativity, gratitude, and togetherness. These moments allow children to learn through real experiences while strengthening their understanding of traditions, values, and relationships.
One of our unique cultural traditions is Kamis Pon, a special day observed in line with the cultural heritage of Yogyakarta. Following the local tradition, children and teachers are encouraged to wear Javanese traditional attire, and classroom interactions may incorporate the Javanese language to help children become familiar with local culture in a joyful and natural way. Kamis Pon is observed to honor the birth day (weton) of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and commemorate the establishment of the Yogyakarta Sultanate, making it a meaningful opportunity for children to appreciate cultural identity and local wisdom from an early age.
Through these celebrations, children not only enjoy memorable experiences but also learn important values such as respect, empathy, cultural awareness, gratitude, and community spirit, all within a warm and nurturing environment.
